From developer Climax comes ATV OFFROAD FURY 3 for the Playstation 2. Climax has taken over the series from Rainbow Studios and has continued the tradition of exciting, adrenalin pumping offroad racing action. While it’s possible to go far in the game simply by learning the tracks and reaching the finish line first, the only way to really get everything out of ATV OFFROAD FURY 3 is to master the tricks. While there are only three ground tricks (wheelies, bicycles, and endos), there are many impressive aerial tricks available. Tricks won’t help players reach the finish line, but they will net racers tokens. These tokens can be used to unlock new ATVs, outfits, tracks, and other secrets. While the single-player racing tournament is the main feature of the game, several other modes are available, including a freestyle mode where players must collect a number of colored tokens, perform certain tricks in a time limit, or chain together tricks to impress the judges. Online play is also available for up to six players. All of the racing modes are available for multiplayer play, as is a freestyle points-based competition. Mini-games are back, too, including soccer, basketball, and hockey games played on ATVs. Fans of the ATV OFFROAD series or racing game fans in general will be impressed with ATV OFFROAD FURY 3. The graphics are sharp, the soundtrack
entertaining, and, most importantly, the gameplay is quick to pick up but challenging. Pros and novices alike will enjoy ATV OFFROAD FURY 3.
