Global Star’s remake of the popular OUTLAW VOLLEYBALL title for the PS2 is here, and OUTLAW VOLLEYBALL REMIXED brings plenty of updates to the two-on-two volleyball game. The remixed version includes two new courts, dozens of new costumes for the players, updated graphics, and a number of unlockable extras. Players have their choice of several different gameplay modes. For a quick game, there’s exhibition mode for one to four players. There’s also random game, which bypasses all of the game conditions players can select in exhibition mode. There’s also a single-player tournament mode where players compete on 12 different courts for the title. The tournament mode is also where more players and courts can be unlocked. For players who want to build up their characters, there’s drill mode. Drill mode is made up of a series of mini-games that, when completed successfully, raise a characters skills in the areas of serving, spiking, blocking, etc. Online features, including one-on-one games and leader boards. The outlaw part of the title comes in the form of fight tokens. When used, these tokens send two characters into a fighting game simulator where the winner receives the loser’s momentum, which can be used to perform powerful moves. Volleyball fans looking for a fun game will find it in OUTLAW VOLLEYBALL REMIXED, and gamers who like to include a little contact in all sports will enjoy the fighting mode addition.
